P-T-H phase diagram of heavy-electron UCd11
Abstract
At ambient pressure UCd11 undergoes a phase transition near 5 K that is believed to arise from antiferromagnetic order within a strongly correlated electron system. Under moderate hydrostatic pressures, two new phase transitions appear below 5 K that are manifested by anomalies in the temperature-dependent electrical resistivity. We present the evolution of these transitions with pressure, temperature, and magnetic field and discuss possible interpretations of their origin given the pressure dependence of the resistivity and magnetic susceptibility. © 1989 The American Physical Society.
