SIO Reference 58-57. In this note a proof of the hypothesis is given for a rather wide class of inhomogeneous spaces known as eventually separable spaces, a term which is defined in detail below. The discussion is designed so that the main results are also applicable to the astrophysical and neutron contexts. The approach used is direct in the sense that it is based on a study of the equation of transfer itself rather than first solving the equation for particular cases and then inspecting the properties of the resulting solutions.
