Dear Editor, Ebola viral disease (EVD) is characterized by a febrile illness, with profound gastrointestinal manifestations, including nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain and gastrointestinal bleeding, and is complicated by intravascular volume depletion, shock and profound electrolyte abnormalities and organ dysfunction.
