Published by: This open-access journal is produced through the UC San Diego Health Image of Nursing professional governance council.
Cycle: 1 issue yearly, released electronically, approximately 15 articles per issue. The theme is announced in July each year. Articles are accepted until October. The journal is published the first week of May.
Aim: Disseminate knowledge regarding the unique contributions of UCSD nurses to the nursing profession.
Goal: Enhance the internal and public image of nursing at UCSD.
Scope: Articles describing UC San Diego nursing practice and contributions to the profession.
Target Audience: Nurses
Type: Themed. Most articles are opinion-editorial pieces of approximately 750 words. Project reports and summaries of submitted artwork are also accepted. Artwork may be visual, short story or poetry. Summaries of previously published work must conform to copyright restrictions.
Style: Opinion-editorials, project reports, and descriptions of artwork are accepted. 12-inch arial font, 1-inch margins. AMA numbered reference format. Details in instructions for authors.
Editorial Board: A Principal Managing Editor is appointed from the membership of the council as a permanent position. Additional editors and peer reviewers are recruited as a general call from the council to the UC San Diego Health nursing workforce and rotated yearly. The nurse scientist of the organization serves permanently on the editorial board.
Eligibility: Nurses and those who support nursing practice at UC San Diego Health are eligible to submit articles. Recipients of nursing care at UC San Diego Health (patients and family) are also welcome to submit articles.
Copyright: Authors retain copyright. Articles are available open-access through the UC San Diego Health nursing website and https://escholarship.org/

Peer Review: Unblinded peer reviewer. All articles receive 2 peer reviews.
