Submission Guidelines

Who Can Submit

NBLJ seeks to publish articles, student-written comments, and speeches. The editors reserve the right to determine the suitability of submissions. For additional information, please contact nblj@lawnet.ucla.edu.

Submission Requirements

NBLJ accepts submissions via ExpressO, Scholastica, and email. Email submissions can be sent to nblj@lawnet.ucla.edu.

What to Submit

Please accompany your submission with a current resume or CV and include the following at the beginning of your paper:

  1. Author Name
  2. Title and Affiliation
  3. Title of Paper
  4. Abstract of Paper

Please format your paper in Times New Roman font, 12 point size with 1 inch margins. Please format footnotes in 10 point size.

Expedited Review

If you have received an offer from another journal and wish to request expedited review, please use Scholastica's or ExpressO’s expedite feature. If you submitted via email, please send an expedite request to nblj@lawnet.ucla.edu. We will do our best to review your piece by your expedite request deadline. If the deadline changes, please update us as soon as possible.

Offer of Publication

An NBLJ Editor will contact you by phone and/or email with an offer of publication. Once you accept NBLJ's offer, we expect you to withdraw all other submissions.

Authors receive two free copies of the complete issue. The price of additional copies will vary based on the length of the journal issue.
