Aim and Scope

Regeneración Tlacuilolli: UCLA Raza Studies Journal is committed to depicting the intellectual, cultural, and historic issues pertinent to Chicanas and Chicanos. The journal promotes the use of creative and academic writing formats, and in the future, will seek to incorporate images, film, and sound. As an open-access e-journal, Regeneración Tlacuilolli: UCLA Raza Studies Journal has the ability to widely disseminate perspectives on cultural, intellectual, and historic themes. The focus of Raza Studies on Chicanas and Chicanos requires different methods and interdisciplinary perspectives to critically examine Chicana/o history and culture, as well as the historic and social implications of colonialism, racism, capitalism, sexism, and homophobia on and within Chicana/o communities. With this focus in mind, Regeneración Tlacuilolli: UCLA Raza Studies Journal will provide a forum for dialogue on these topics in ways that are critical of, as well as remedy, injustice and inequality.
