Abstract
The poems that follow loosely collect and investigate place and displacement, ranging from suburban California, to rural Arkansas, to places imagined. These poems also interrogate place as it relates to language itself. Where does language belong, and which kinds? How (and why) is everything where it is? Using found text, allegory, ekphrastic, and memory, this collection weaves a collage of misplaced language - and by extension, poetry - across the disparate but deeply connected sense of where we are, who we are, and how we cope with the fallibility of description amidst global diaspora and impending displacement on global and spiritual scale.
