SIO Reference 59-5. The Visibility Laboratory of the University of California, La Jolla Campus, is engaged in an on-going research program studying image transmission through the atmosphere. The paper "Image Transmission by the4 Troposphere I," published in the Journal of the Optical Society ofAmerica, discusses this program. In that paper correlation betweencertain optical and meteorological parameters is indicated. The studyof this correlation has continued and this report describes the resultsof data gathered from a second formation flight of two airplanes, theinstrumented B-29 and a microwave refractometer-equipped C-131 fromPatrick Air Force Base squadron.
