Instrumentation for thermal comfort measurements: The globe thermometer
Abstract
Globe thermometers of varying size and composition were compared in terms of response time and accuracy in predicting mean radiant temperature. It was found that larger globes (150mm) were most accurate but that much smaller globes (38mm) had significantly faster response times while sacrificing little in accuracy.
