This is an interdisciplinary collaboration between the MIT Digital Currency Initiative, Maiden Labs, and IMTFI, funded by the Gates Foundation, looking at a more financially inclusive development of the design and deployment of a central bank digital currency (CBDC). Research findings specifically look at e-money and remittance systems in Mexico, Indonesia, India and Nigeria.
