Research Paper Submission Guidelines
Who Can Submit?
The UC San Diego Challenger Journal is seeking outstanding research articles to be included in our fifth issue of Challenger Research Journal at UC San Diego. Current undergraduate students at UC San Diego are invited to submit their research articles for publication. We seek submissions that represent current research in varied fields.
Our Editorial Board and Faculty Advisory Board expect that all submissions are well-polished and reviewed prior to being submitted for consideration. Please note that you can only publish your paper in one publication platform (eg. If you decide to publish in the CRJ, you can not publish your paper in other platforms). In order to be eligible for submission, articles submitted must have been approved by your Research faculty advisor.
Submission Guidelines:
To submit your paper for our review, please follow these instructions below. The following guidelines must be met for your paper to be considered for review:
Faculty Advisor Approval Form
Your paper submission must be endorsed by your Faculty research advisor. Faculty members should review the form in its entirety. Faculty members must then sign the document. It is your responsibility to scan the document (document should be in PDF format) and return it to the Challenger Editorial Board .- Cover Sheet
Your submission should include the completed Cover Sheet provided below. Be sure to complete the Cover Sheet in its entirety and provide updated contact information to be used for communication with the Challenger Editorial Board. Please ensure the email you list is an account you will check during the summer. - Submission Document
Your submission document should consist of a full first draft with proper citations and formatting. The formatting guidelines for the Challenger Research Journal are located in the "Our Policies" folder on our eScholarship page.
Submission Steps
We are currently in the process of developing a new system called Janeway via EScholarship that we will use to oversee your papers throughout the editing process. When the system is complete, you will receive an email with further instructions. We appreciate your patience at this time.
