This novel-in-progress explores themes of isolation and dislocation through the lens of art, capital, and queer identity. The novel interrogates the uneasy reliance of art-makers on the demands of capital through the psychosexual dynamics between three primary characters: a young artist, a wealthy housewife, and her son, whose absence serves as the thematic axis of the novel. These characters must reconcile authenticity with artificiality and must negotiate ways of seeing via failures to see, all through the interpretive lens of eroticized memory – which is both a vehicle for transformative longing and a site of traumatic rupture and disorientation.
